by Antonio Maristela This year the San Diego Bike Monthly Bike Night @ Hooters has picked up a new sponsor, Vey’s Powersports of El Cajon and Lemon Grove. No different than the other bike nights of the past, what comes with this new year is a new momentum in motorized action vehicles, whether it be [...]
It was a special engagement from characters repping California, Nevada and even as far as Montana. In their entourage were an exclusive All-Star casts of artists, emcees, deejays, [...]
by Antonio Maristela Call it what you will. It’s got all the ingredients of side show act novelty, but with an updated technological pump. This massive behemoth of electronic circus literally will back up into your driveway and open its ramp to welcome you into video gamer central. From the outside, it looks beefy by [...]
by Antonio Maristela PILOTS. The four piece band are made up of: Jeremy Sanchez: Drums Kevin Glenn: Bass Miguel Guerra: Guitar/Vocals Joe Mousey: Keys and Rhythm Guitar. The music from this squad can only be described as sinister lushness given the layering each instrument contributes in all its soulful, fraternal energy. From the beginning of [...]
by Antonio Maristela MELVOY. There’s something about this band that oozes indie-sexy. The crowd certainly reacts like a lover’s homecoming arriving at the porch with a case of wine-in-a-box, chocolates and whip cream. You already know what the end result is. Orgasmic decadence. Originally rooted from San Diego, the band is organically made up of [...]

by Antonio Maristela At about 12:30 a.m. I literally walked into a crowded stage floor. The bar and billiards hall of the Ruby Room were empty, with the majority of the folks now taking their places to get a front side view of tonight’s main act, a New York headline, that I’m pretty sure half [...]
by Antonio Maristela Her pieces are “one of a kind”, says Jacqueline Ortega, “I literally finished that piece a few minutes before taking off to Daniel’s show”. She says this in creativity humility for constantly being in jewelery design mode, a trait that can be obnoxiously embarrassing at times, constantly living and breathing jewelry concepts. [...]
by Antonio Maristela In the staging area, an assembly line of preparation commences less than two hours before showtime, in a familiar location, now becoming a Boston Fashion Week designer’s showcase headquartered on 100 Warrenton Street, in Boston downtown, (more familiarly known as the top floor of Boston’s night club, Venu). How did we get our name? I was on my way to meeting a love of my life in Luxemburgh. I just flew into to Frankfurt and I convinced a cabbie to drive the unusual distance. In the process, my cabbie overshot a turn. Unfortunately, on the autobahn you can't just turn around. I learned that my cabbie just recently married, at the age of 50. He was also a proud new father of twins. During the drive he assured me with these kind words. " Don't worry, I'll get you to your star in the sky". I was inspired by his genuine enthusiasm for a complete stranger's comfort.
