This year the San Diego Bike Monthly Bike Night @ Hooters has picked up a new sponsor, Vey’s Powersports of El Cajon and Lemon Grove.

No different than the other bike nights of the past, what comes with this new year is a new momentum in motorized action vehicles, whether it be sport or tour motorcycles, off-road vehicles and action water sports, all brought to you by one of San Diego’s motorized recreations dealers.

On this evening, Hooters representatives, Caitlyn & Sarah, were emcees offering photo opportunities and hosting prize raffle drawings brought to you by local sp0nsors.

Guests and patrons got to win new product merchandise as well as coupons and deals on future motorcycle maintenance and servicing.  Like who doesn’t want to win a free oil change, Right?

The monthly bike night event is a tradition brought to you by promoter and founder, Glenn Dunn, a familiar face in the bike community.  Proceeds from these events help raise awareness and funding for future community related events, philanthropic support, and motorcycle safety.

Everyone is welcome to this family oriented gathering happening on the last Wednesdays of every month.

It was a special engagement from characters repping California, Nevada and even as far as Montana. Hip Hop Roots, the longest running show series in Las Vegas found its way to the west coast and celebrate their official one year, by founder HighDro. In their entourage were an exclusive All-Star casts of artists, emcees, deejays, and merchants who made opportunities to show off their wares and trade craft, either on stage or on the floor inside the world famous Ruby Room.

Among those celebrating this inaugural event were the likes of Broken Dreams, Six9teen, Purplebrown, Infusion Project, Day-Go Produce, DJ L, DJ Deprave, Parker (of P&TN) and many others.

Master of Ceremonies was San Diego’s High flyer himself, Aaron Evans.

Call it what you will. It’s got all the ingredients of side show act novelty, but with an updated technological pump. This massive behemoth of electronic circus literally will back up into your driveway and open its ramp to welcome you into video gamer central.

From the outside, it looks beefy by the looks of a four wheel drive SUV pulling a matching trailer that just left the set of MTV’s Pimp My Ride, and headed eastward to the dunes in Glamis. It was designed to bring this quality of fun anywhere.

When you walk its ramp you’ll find yourself in the creature comforts of gamer cozy. Visitors will measure this magnificent trailer hitch by the four LG wide screens that hang along its walls and the long bench gamer party chair that will comfortably accomodate up to a twelve person seating.

The video consoles, games, and controllers are all current and continuously updated even catering with specific games or consoles for the more serious of their private party hosts.

Yes, this is a mobile party attraction marvel, but it’s not your typical air inflatable sideshow act. This one caters to all those who are still kids-at-heart, but want a little something more to provide their guests outside the usual jumper ride or taquilleria cuisine. This one comes with XBOX, PS3, and Wiis galore, and from the looks of its patrons who have walked its corridors, it is a brilliant and instant hit.

Known as GamesInGear, this private party attraction was conceived and built by its owner and operator, Mario Roberts of Solana Beach, who dreamed of creating something fun, exciting, and family oriented, and providing a new and creative, private party alternatives.

PILOTS. The four piece band are made up of:
Jeremy Sanchez: Drums
Kevin Glenn: Bass
Miguel Guerra: Guitar/Vocals
Joe Mousey: Keys and Rhythm Guitar.

The music from this squad can only be described as sinister lushness given the layering each instrument contributes in all its soulful, fraternal energy. From the beginning of their song list with Orange Umbrellas, to Plagas, Avast Ye Barnacles, Shitsberg, and Quiet Mr. Q. PILOTS carried the audience into a sequence of rhythmic bombardment. They ended their show with a throwback ballad of Eskimoesque.

Sanchez’s drum cadence underneath the Kevin’s bass plucks create a hypnotic universe for Miguel’s guitar love throes all led by Mousey’s arpeggio. The dynamic is spectacular to watch and hear LIVE.

Pilots….They are the band to watch out for in 2012.

MELVOY. There’s something about this band that oozes indie-sexy. The crowd certainly reacts like a lover’s homecoming arriving at the porch with a case of wine-in-a-box, chocolates and whip cream. You already know what the end result is. Orgasmic decadence.

Originally rooted from San Diego, the band is organically made up of three guitarists and a hot drummer chick. Chipper is leads. Wayne is bass. Kevin is rhythm guitar . Nataly is a Beast.

Chipper and Wayne are originally from San Diego. When Wayne moved up north to the Bay area for school, he and Kevin became good friends and started writing music together. They arrived as MELVOY in their evolution.

[Their visit to San Diego is a traditional holiday migration for Wayne and Chipper to see their folks. San Diego is thankful to host these original minstrels, even if it is for one night.]

They always make time to honor their roots, friends and fams.

Has to be, by far, the biggest jump off happening in Long Beach. The crowd turnout was just as phenomenal as the lineup that gathered to celebrate the long awaited album release, Don’t Sleep, from Orange County’s own, PARALLEL.

The video, itself, has since been circulating in the world wide web since the middle of October of 2010. But, tonight PARALLEL just made it official.

Each member: Airborn, Lawjik One, Hyphen-Select, Dope One, Fatty B, Herrera, and their infamous deejay, Deprave, have had their share of ups and downs that tested their membership mettle. Kids, jobs, address locations, life-in-general, have yet to stop these guys from getting lost in the loom of Westcoast-Cali-Rap-music obscurity.

Still, nothing has yet been able to keep these guys divided from bringing Long Beach one spectacular evening of solid music entertainment. The crowd was jam packed. The energy was reminiscent of something pre-housing-market-crash, pre-social network, pre-tight-jean-auto-tune. It was “FUN TEAM” reincarnated, and it was bumping.

In just one year, the group has shown its course of maturity with more aggressive promotional campaigns, public visibility, and merchandise accessibility. Their efforts even won them some local press notoriety being voted as OC Weekly’s Best Hip Hop Group of 2011.

Hopefully this momentum will be a good sign for PARALLEL in the years to come.
